U.S. Show Jumping Team Announced for CSIO Spruce Meadows, September 7-11

Lexington, KY – Four show jumping riders have been selected to represent the United States at CSIO Spruce Meadows, in Alberta, Canada, September 7-11.

The team members and their first-ranked horses, are as follows:

Laura Kraut of Oconomowoc, WI, with Miss Independent (1997 Dutch Warmblood mare; owned by Passmore Stables LLC)

Beezie Madden of Cazenovia, NY, with Authentic (1995 KWPN Dutch Warmblood gelding; owned by Abigail Wexner)

Schuyler Riley of Wellington, FL, with Ilian (1990 KWPN Dutch Warmblood gelding; owned by South Beach Stables)

Richard Spooner of Burbank, CA, with Hilton Flight (1993 Irish Sport Horse gelding; owned by Freedom Farms, Inc.)

Alternates are: Norman Dello Joio, Anne Kursinski, Peter Wylde, Georgina Bloomberg and Kim Prince.

As required by selection procedures, riders for CSIO Spruce Meadows were chosen based on USEF International Computer List rankings, five weeks prior to the competition.

Leading the U.S. team as Chef d’Equipe will be one of the world’s most respected trainers and coaches, former international show jumping star George H. Morris.
