Manchester, VT - Lene Bruheim had great success this past weekend while competing for her family's Nordic Lights Farm at the prestigious Vermont Summer Festival in Manchester, VT. The talented junior rider recently purchased a new jumper mount, and the duo has already formed a great partnership. After earning excellent ribbons through out the week in the High Children's Jumpers, Bruheim and Anyway took home the division's championship tricolor.

This weekend, Bruheim and Anyway posted multiple double-clear rounds in the High Children's Jumpers. They placed fifth in the division's first class, but continued to improve. During the $1,500 M&S Children's Jumper Classic, the duo took home the second place prize. Then, in the $1,500 NAL/WIHS Children's Jumper Classic, Bruheim and Anyway proved unbeatable, winning the blue ribbon prize and leading the victory gallop. Their excellent efforts in the division garnered them the High Children's Jumper Championship title.

"Anyway is a new mount and I was so excited about how she was going for me," expressed Bruheim. "By the time the Classics came around I was starting to get used to her ride, and she's a super careful mare. NLF Valhall was amazing too; he listened and helped me out in the jumper classes. I couldn't ask for a better string of horses to ride and show. They're truly amazing and I'm so ecstatic about how they've all been going."

Bruheim also competed in the hunter and equitation rings at the Vermont Summer Festival. She showed her talented mount Say No More to the second place honors in the Pessoa/USEF Hunter Seat Medal, and then placed fifth in the ASPCA Maclay. In the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters, Bruheim and NLF Shakespeare's Rhythm picked up multiple good ribbons, and went on to place fifth in the $1,000 Junior Working Hunter Classic.

"NLF Shakespeare's Rhythm was really good for me in the junior hunters," said Bruheim. "By the second day of showing, we were both more relaxed and he jumped around so nice in the classic rounds. Say No More was amazing in all of the equitation classes as well. I could not be happier with how he's going for me; he listens to everything I ask of him."

Bruheim will continue competing with North Run trainers Missy Clark and John Brennan throughout the year, and will be showing at the Vermont Summer Festival again later this week.

"I began riding with North Run this summer and it has been an incredible experience," smiled Bruheim. "I really appreciate all of their hard work. They have an excellent training program. I have seen great progress in my riding, as well as each of my horses' performance."

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, and was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 18-year-old Eirin Bruheim and 16-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
