Saugerties, NY - For the past two weeks, the horses and riders of Derbydown traveled to New York to compete during the prestigious HITS Saugerties Horse Show. Competing in the hunters and jumpers, the Derbydown riders garnered many top accolades in their respective divisions. During HITS Saugerties VI, Christina Serio piloted Noble Blue to the Green Conformation Hunter Championship for owner Kristen Bowman.

Serio and Noble Blue had an excellent week in the Green Conformation Hunter division, scoring five blue ribbons to take home the championship tricolor. Later in the week, Kristen Bowman took up the reins and won the Children's 14 & Under Hunter Horse Under Saddle class with the talented mount.

Deer Hill Farm's Black Tie was consistently earning top ribbons with Blair Balmer in the irons. During the second week of competition, Balmer and Black Tie earned two second place ribbons, a third place ribbon and a fourth place ribbon in the Green Conformation Hunters. The pair was also successful in the Low Amateur-Owner Hunters and won a class during the first week in the Adequan Hunter division.
Kara Twing also earned top ribbons in the Low Amateur-Owner Hunter Division with her mount Fashion Week.

Christina Serio was also successful in the jumper ring, piloting Volumia and Navarre to top finishes in the 1.40m Open Jumpers. In the Low Adult Jumpers, Jennifer Rowland took home good ribbons with Silver Oak Farms' Split Second.

Junior rider Jane Maguire had great success with her talented mount Fun & Games, as well as Brook Barnes' Nickleback in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunter Division. Kathleen Fisher also completed in the division aboard North Shore, and the duo placed just out of the ribbons during the 2011 USEF Junior Hunter Finals - East Coast.

Serio and Derbydown will now be traveling to Lexington, KY, to compete during the Bluegrass Festival Classic as well as the KHJA Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park.
