Bridgehampton, NY - The Hampton Classic Horse Show is spending Monday and Tuesday rebuilding 18 stabling tents with 1600 stalls plus 40 boutique and VIP tents in anticipation of the rescheduled start of the horse show on Wednesday.

To ensure the safety of everyone in anticipation of Hurricane Irene, everything had been taken down on Friday and Saturday and the horse show put out the word that no horses would be allowed at the show grounds before Tuesday. A massive collective effort is getting everything back in place.

All classes from the 8-day horse show have been rescheduled for what will now be a 5-day horse show held Wednesday through Sunday.

"I'm blown away by how resillient and resourceful our Hampton Classic staff and crew are," said Shanette Barth Cohen, Executive Director of the Hampton Classic. "Everyone is jumping in and doing whatever is needed to make sure that we open on Wednesday. When people arrive on Wednesday, I am positive that there will be no signs whatsoever that we even had a hurricane."

The 36th annual Hampton Classic Horse Show will run through Sunday, September 4, and will culminate with the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix. The revised schedule is available at www.hamptonclassic.com. Updates will also be posted on the Hampton Classic's Facebook page.
