Lexington, Kentucky – For the first time in the 102-year history of the World's Championship Horse Show, the competition can be seen via webcast on the American Saddlebred Horse Association's website, www.saddlebred.com.
Alan F. Balch, ASHA executive secretary, said the response has been very positive.
"According to the e-mails we have been receiving and the posts on some of the Saddlebred online forums, the feed is going well for most Saddlebred enthusiasts," Balch said. "I've been monitoring from my personal computer and the feed has been very clear.”
“I just hope those of our members who have to work during the morning sessions are able to get some work done and not be distracted by this new service,” he joked.
The daily results of the horse show can be viewed online at www.saddlebred.com/wchs-results.

Saddlebred trainers shine on Louisville television
Thanks to the efforts of Dede Gatlin of the American Saddlebred Horse Association, Smith Lilly was part of a threesome (including Bret Day and Kristin Spann of Cricket Hill Farm) to appear on live television early Sunday morning from the Kentucky State Fairgrounds. All this to promote the glory of the World’s Championship Horse Show and our great American Saddlebreds, of course.
Preparing for his own moment of television fame prior to going on air, his mother, Sandy, offered her advice.
“Don’t you think you could at least wear a clean shirt?” she offered. We think he did. Then wife Alexandra had her own words of encouragement on the phone as she got read to watch the telecast at their hotel.” Now remember to stand up straight and don’t come off like a redneck.” He did and he didn’t.
And now we all know Smith Lilly's secrets of success (Sandy and Alexandra)!
The American Saddlebred Horse Association thanks this group and all those who will help promote the show and the breed all week long.
