Wellington, FL – Joe Fargis may be best known for winning the 1984 Olympic individual gold medal on Touch of Class, but the veteran jumper rider who has had tremendous success over the past five decades is also the proud owner of Sandron Farm, in Middleburg, Virginia. Thanks to a beautiful tack room setup at their home-away-from- home barn on the show grounds of the Winter Equestrian Festival, Fargis and Sandron Farm took home the World Development Group Tack Room Award during the first week of the 2012 FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival.

Zinaman congratulated Fargis and Sandron Farm on their tack room setup, which included beautiful black and tan colors, mulched flower beds, hanging plants and a handsome and well thought out seating area for clients and staff. A Sandron Farm representative said the tack room setup was a result of teamwork and that they were all thrilled to win the World Development Group Tack Room Award.
While Fargis is still known for his great seat and excellent release over the jumps, he has always been known for having a stable full of world-class jumpers. Fargis has 12 horses at the Winter Equestrian Festival, and all are staying comfortable in Sandron Farm’s show grounds barn. “Joe grew up in Long Island and every barn there had the name ‘Sand’ in it, so Joe came up with the name Sandron when naming his farm,” said one of the barn managers at Sandron. Fargis has won countless Grand Prix classes during his career and is considered one of the best practical clinicians in the country.
