Texas A&M, Auburn Get Top Seeds for NCEA National Championships

The National Collegiate Equestrian Association has released brackets for the 2012 NCEA Equestrian Championships in Waco, Texas. The Lone Star State's own Texas A&M University has been granted the top seed in the western bracket while the Oklahoma State Cowgirls, who defeated the Aggies on a raw score tie-breaker to win the Big 12 Championship (the score was 4-4 in the western disciplines), will enter western competition as the number two seed.

In hunter competition Auburn University, led by senior and dual hunter seat All-American Maggie McAlary, gets the one seed. The second seed goes to 2012 Southern Equestrian Champions the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The NCEA Championships will be held April 11-14 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas with first match-ups in reining and equitation on the flat begining at 8:30am on the 12th. Visit www.collegiateequstrian.com for a complete schedule.
