Vaulter Bree Krebel will be a featured clinician at the 2012 Western States Horse Expo (Western States Horse Expo)

Sacramento, CA - The Western States Horse Expo is pleased to announce that vaulting coach Bree Krebel will be a featured clinician during year's event. Krebel has recently created a new program, "Vaulting for Equestrians," which she hopes will help develop new programs across the country. The Western States Horse Expo is scheduled for June 8-10, 2012 at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA.

Krebel has traveled worldwide teaching and training at summer camps in London, England, Philadelphia, PA and Los Angeles, CA. Most recently, she has been teaching lessons with the focus being on the biomechanics of the rider's seat through recreational vaulting, lunge lessons and bareback riding. After a 27-year absence, Krebel returned to vault at the 2011 AVA National Vaulting Championships.

"During the clinics at the Western States Horse Expo, I will be discussing my new program "Vaulting for Equestrians" which is built around carefully selected entry-level exercises," explained Krebel. "I talk about how riders can improve their overall performance. I also explain that just as any rider can benefit from the postures and discipline of the sport, there are horses in any barn that can adapt to vaulting. Flexibility, balance and poise are skills that are beneficial to riders of all disciplines, and the excitement of stretching outside one's comfort zone."

Krebel continued, "At the recent Pomona Horse Expo, I did a clinic that involved identifying vaulting prospects at random, right there at the show and engaging those suitable in vaulting exercises with riders who were new to the sport. I find here in America, a lot of English riders balance themselves through holding on to the reins instead of having an independent seat. Vaulting can help with this, because the lunger holds the reins while the rider or vaulter is forced to find the balance through the seat and rhythm of the horse. I also find that vaulting helps with balance in general and is especially useful for anyone who is jumping or three-day eventing as well as benefiting anyone who just rides young, spooky, jumpy and hot horses. I hope the guests at the Western States Horse Expo will learn that by using their seat properly, they can balance correctly."

Over the past 13 years, Horse Expo Events has established the Western States Horse Expo as the gold standard of equine events. The 2012 Western States Horse Expo takes center stage from June 8-10, 2012 at the Cal Expo Fairgrounds in Sacramento, CA.
