Nations Cup Morning

The $75,000 FEI Nations Cup presented by G&C Farm doesn’t start for another 8 hours but everything is already in full swing at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center. Horses and riders are busy jumping in every ring and many of the riders that will compete tonight are busy schooling and competing their younger and greener prospects.

I saw Pan American double gold medalist Chris McCrea jumping a classy looking 8-year-old owned by her mother Candy Tribble earlier this morning. I didn’t catch its name but it definitely looked like one for the future.

US Team veterans Margie Engle and Laura Kraut have also been busy splitting their time in the ring and coaching.

On the weather front we are enjoying sunshine and 75 degree weather, so no complaints from this kid. I didn’t bring any sunscreen and should really pretend to be remorseful about that but anyone that knows me well, knows that the likelihood Iuse it is slim!

I’m currently sitting here in the sun watching the 1.40m class in the International Ring, which is really making returning emails and other work related tasks much more enjoyable. Especially as it sounds like everyone in Lexington is bracing for some pretty severe weather.

More later and Go USA.
