Rain, Smiles and Dressage on Thursday

It’s not Fair Hill if there’s no rain
.
Well, we are defiantly at Fair Hill. It could have been far worse but rain is still rain. The morning was grey but just threatened rained. Most of us lucked out as they majority of spectators, riders and connections were tucked under tents out of the elements when the rain started at the lunch break. However, there were a few competitors using the down time in the main ring to school in the warm-up. Needless to say they got wet!

I was planning on taking a quick walk around the course at the break. But opted to eat lunch and catch-up with some friends rather than get soaked. I’m banking on a dry walk tomorrow and will do my best to post some photos.

I say that not having checked the weather yet. But let’s stay optimistic. The word from the riders is that the courses look strong but fair. Saturday should be a good day.

There were some great dressage tests today. Including overnight leaders Ben (CCI3*) and Mystic My (CCI2*) who both put in impressive tests today and showed a great deal of potential for even better performances in the future.

All competitors, owners, grooms and supporters are on great form and everyone seems to be focused but relaxed and having a good time catching up.

More tomorrow,

Helen
