Who'll Stop the Rain?

It seems to be the question on everyone's mind as the water continues to pour from the Kentucky sky. Despite a brief afternoon respite on Tuesday, the forecast remains grim for the next 36 hours. The Organizing Committee moved the first horse inspection from 3 PM to 10 AM to try to get the best of the weather as it continues to deteriorate Wednesday afternoon. Anyone living in the Midwest path of the storms won't find any of this information surprising but we have been beat up for weeks with wet weather and no one seems to know the answer to the obvious questions.

You just can't stop the rain.

Everyone continues to prepare undeterred.

Tiana Coudray's Ringwood Magistrar looked very fresh and fit today. The sparkling dark grey 10-year-old looks impressed with his first four star surroundings. The antithesis was Hollywood, at twice 'Finian's' age he knew exactly where he was on his third trip to America's CCI4* and took advantage of some false hope in the way of fleeting sunshine to have a big old nap this afternoon. He certainly looks well for his age.Hollywood

Lots of folks were practicing dressage, Quintus was patiently waiting for Karen and Max to arrive from Badminton, Arthur was getting body clipped, Gaelic Marriage was getting trimmed up, Titanium was sparkling white, Fernhill Eagle was looking for someone to bite and Critical Decision arrived late in the afternoon.

Some of the Europeans turned up: Mary King and Oliver Townend were spotted at the venue in the evening and the whole place was really getting ready to roll.

Just bring your flippers.
