Last March I made my inaugural visit to Wellington, FL and the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center for CSIO week, which included the USEF Selection Trials for the US Show Jumping Team for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games and the $75,000 FEI Nations Cup presented by CN. My partner in crime, Melissa Davis, and I set-up our Merchandise “Fort” and sold-out of nearly all the USA and patriotic coats, polos and hats we’d shipped down. Unseasonably chilly temperatures for Palm Beach for that time of year meant that the white USA coats were flying off the shelves.
This year I will once again head to the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival for CSIO week this time accompanied by the USEF’s newest merchandise expert and model Trisha “Pa-trish” Watkins. We are planning on having some great new USA themed vests, jackets, hats and polos. So if you are on the show grounds make sure you come and find us!
While I’m excited to go back to Wellington in just a few weeks and get out of the Kentucky deep-freeze (that being said it is supposed to reach 60 here today but last week it was a balmy 12 degrees), I am looking forward to watching the live streaming USEF Network is hosting of classes in the International Ring over the next few months. The 15th annual WCHR Palm Beach Hunter Classic Spectacular on Friday evening and Saturday’s 2nd annual FTI Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments would be fun to see in person but there is something to be said for being able to watch world class competition from the comfort of your own couch!
This weekend I am going to catch-up with some of my eventer friends in Aiken, SC, and I’m sure getting roped into doing some type of trot-set or helping tack/untack horses at the event, so I won’t be able to watch the stream but I will be sure to go back and watch the classes on Video-On-Demand posted soon after the competition when I get home.
USEF Network will also be streaming March 4,5 and 6 during CSIO Week featuring the 75,000 FEI Nations Cup CSI04* presented by G&C Farm, the $35,000 Hermes Puissance and the $150,000 Trump Grand Prix CSIO4*. Which will showcase all different types of competition from World Class Jumping to the horse equivalent of the high jump.
Later in March the Network will feature the $500,000 FTI Consulting Finale Grand Prix, watch and see if Sapphire can win for a third year running. The following week on April 2nd the USEF Network will feature the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, will we see this year’s Rumba or Lone Star?
