Tristan, the Wonder Pony, Speaks About the USEF Pony Finals National Championship

by Information from Sophie Gali | Aug 7, 2009, 12:33 PM

Hi. My name is Tristan, or Only Option. My rider is 11-year-old Sophie Gali. I am here at the USEF Pony Finals National Championships, trying to make Sophie proud. It was a long, but fun trip from Maryland to here in Kentucky. On the way here, I passed the time eating, napping, and chatting with other friends in the trailer. My brother Louis made the trip with me, along with some of the cute babes from Rolling Acres. It was the first time I had seen Louis in a while.

I have been practicing hard for this big event. There was a lot of trotting up and down hills and a lot of that boring stuff that Sophie calls "flatwork." I've made her practice as much as me though. So we're ready for the competition, but my favorite part of it is dinner time, treat time, and nap time. My favorite treats are peeps marchmallows, peppermints, and stud muffins (because I am a stud, in my mind!). I mean, Have you seen me? I am a mare magnet. And to let you in on a little secret, I have a special crush on the medium pony Catamaran (Kitty Cat). But my hero is Big Brown. If I could meet any horse, it would be him.

It's a little humid here for my tastes, but nothing stops "Tristan, the Wonder Pony." Except when it involves a magician at the Pavilion Party; Sophie thought I might be afraid of that, so I didn't get to see the magician. But our zone has been decorating. That is always fun. I get a nice break after this before the fall shows, but I have to say, Pony Finals is the most fun horse show ever. And I love my owner, Will, and my rider, Sophie.
