AMHA Bylaw 3.6 Modified

by American Morgan Horse Association | May 3, 2012, 11:11 AM

The AMHA Board of Directors voted unanimously on Saturday April 28, 2012 to modify Bylaw 3.6 to allow for the posting of the voter list after each election to the "Members Only" side of the AMHA website, www.morganhorse.com. This would begin after the close of the 60-day inspection period until October 1 of that calendar year when the next election nominations close.

This step supports the Board's commitment to transparency and is consistent with the 2012-2014 strategic plan objectives, which include Integrity, Transparency, Accountability, Diversity, and Stability.

Once obtained from the official tabulator, the list of voters from the 2012 and 2011 elections will be posted and remain available for members to review until October 1, 2012. The voter list includes names of eligible voters who may have voted as individuals, as the authorized voter of an entity account, or as a proxy for a fellow eligible voter. Per Bylaw 3.6, members wishing to inspect the list of actual voters immediately following the election and for 60 days thereafter will still have to make a written request to do so and conduct this inspection at the official tabulator's offices. However, after this "inspection and appeal" period has closed, AMHA will make the certified list available on our website for review. This is a list of only the names of the voters; selections of voters are confidential.
