USEF Accepting Entries for 2005 Pegasus Awards for Media; Deadline Extended Through October 14

Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation is now accepting entries for the 2005 Pegasus Awards for Media. Bronze Pegasus statues will be presented in 10 categories to honor outstanding achievement in the coverage of equestrian in the United States, whether in aspects of sport, lifestyle or issues.

This year’s categories include:
• Best Publication of the Year
• Best Specialized Publication of the Year
• Best News Article
• Best Feature Article
• Best Website
• Best Television News Broadcast
• Best Television Feature Broadcast
• Best Audio Broadcast
• Best News Photograph
• Best Feature Photograph

One of these top ten winners will be selected to receive the Daniel P. Lenehan Memorial Trophy for Overall Excellence. In addition, one winner will be selected from all mainstream press entries to receive the 2005 President’s Award for Media Excellence.

The USEF will accept completed nominations at its Lexington, Kentucky office through 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, October 14, 2005. Entries received after close of business on October 14, 2005 will not be accepted.

The 2005 Pegasus Awards for Media will be presented formally during the United States Equestrian Federation Annual Meeting in January 2006, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
