The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is greatly saddened to learn of the passing of Richard Thompson. Known around the eventing world as Dick, he and his wife Vita were some of the most influential owners in American eventing over the past 30 years.

Their stable included Biko, who represented the United States on numerous occasions in the 1990s with Karen O’Connor and more recently CCI4* horse St. Barths for Hannah Burnett and Amber Eyes, an Intermediate horse with a promising future for O’Connor.

Thompson’s voice was a feature throughout the Mid-Atlantic events and he will be greatly missed by the entire community.
