Great Southwest Fall Classic Reduced to a Four-Day Event

by By Andrew Ellis | Sep 29, 2005, 3:26 AM

After discussion with trainers and the USEF, show management has decided to reduce the Great Southwest Fall Classic in Katy, TX, to a four-day event. This change will hopefully allow for an easier and safer return to the Houston area for some people and their horses. The show will start on Thursday, September 29, at 7:30 a.m. and finish on Sunday. There are a few changes, which are highlighted below.

1) The $25,000 Katy Fall Grand Prix will be canceled this week. We will be adding a $10,000 Level 6 Jumper Classic to be held on Saturday night. The class will be held under Table II2a format. Formal attire is requested.
2) We will cancel the $1,000 Level 7 jumper class that was scheduled for Thursday.
3) We will hold the $5,000 Level 5 Classic under Table II2b. Formal attire is NOT required.
4) We may change other jumper class tables as management deems necessary due to the extenuating circumstances.
5) The Baby Green hunters will go on Thursday and Friday in Ring III.
6) The Adults will stay on Thursday and Friday.
7) Hunter Breeding will be held Thursday in Ring III not before 3:00 p.m.
8) All late fees will be waived and stall fees reduced accordingly.
