The USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championships will award two national titles for the first time in 2012. Many graduates of the Markel/USEF National Young Horse Dressage Program have thrived in the Developing Horse Dressage ranks and ultimately progressed to the international stage.

The Reserve Champion from the 2011 USEF National Developing Horse Dressage Championship sponsored by The Dutta Corp and Performance Sales International, Pie, has thrived this year on the most competitive stages. In April, Pie and Caroline Roffman represented the U.S. on the winning team at the WEF Wellington Dressage Nations Cup CDIO 3* before claiming the USEF National Intermediaire I Dressage Championship in June at USEF Dressage Festival of Champions.

transition to the highest level. Just as with the Prix St. Georges division they will perform two tests, with the first counting for 40% of the overall average and the remaining 60% being determined in the Final Test. The winner of the Developing Horse Championship in 2011, Horses Unlimited's Pikko del Cerro HU (Pik L- Rohweena by Rohdiamant), heads the nine horse field in the inaugural championship. The nine-year-old Hanoverian stallion also topped the USEF Developing Horse Prix St. Georges Dressage Championship Ranking List with rider Lisa Wilcox. He will have plenty of competition from all entries, which include second ranked Agastrofos (Briar 899-Hera by Nocturne 877). The 10-year-old Swedish Warmblood stallion has spent much of the season competing in the Southeast with rider Endel Ots and looks to impress for owner Taunia Reed.
