North Salem, NY
- This year's American Gold Cup, underway now and running through Sunday at Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY, features as one of its beneficiaries, JustWorld International. A number of very special JustWorld activities will be highlighted throughout the weekend.

JustWorld International works through the international equestrian community and its extensive networks to fund and sustain programs that provide basic needs to children with little opportunity to receive support from other sources. While many nonprofit organizations focus primarily on providing short-term assistance to developing countries, JustWorld's goals are long-term, focusing its efforts on some of the poorest communities in countries such as Honduras, Cambodia, Guatemala, and Brazil, where public education is limited or inaccessible, threatening many children's chances for productive lives.

The American Gold Cup will be another excellent chance for JustWorld to raise much needed funding for these tremendously worthwhile causes.

The festivities start on Friday night with the JustWorld International Cocktail Party, sponsored by OnlyJumpers Auctions at the Old Salem Farm clubhouse. The party starts at 5 p.m. and features the always popular Maureen Hamill and friends entertaining the crowd. Those in attendance will also get an advance preview of the horses that will be sold in the Saturday OnlyJumper Auction. There will be drawings for fabulous prizes on Friday night as well.

On Saturday, the OnlyJumper Auction gets underway at 5 p.m. at the Old Salem Farm Indoor Arena and Clubhouse. Stadium Jumping Inc. and the American Gold Cup will be generously donating a percentage of the total auction sales to JustWorld. In addition, Juan Pablo Gnecco, organizer of the OnlyJumper Auction, will be donating one hundred percent of bids from auction of two adorable miniature horses, Sebastian and Sancho. Everyone is invited to visit these sweet Palominos at the show, prior to the auction.

Then on Sunday, the JustWorld International Horseless Horse Show, sponsored by Today's Equestrian Magazine, takes place prior to the start of the American Gold Cup on the Old Salem Grand Prix field. There are classes for all ages with an entry fee of $15, with the proceeds benefitting JustWorld International. The show is organized by Gabby Hero and the OSF Ambassador Committee and entries can be made at the horse show office.

JustWorld International's Rider Ambassadors raise awareness and funds for their programs. Because of these Ambassadors, JustWorld supporters learn about the needs of others across the globe as they give thousands of children a leg up to a brighter future.
