The United States Equestrian Team (USET) Foundation held another Cocktails and Conversation event on Sunday, November 6, to raise awareness and gain support for the high-performance programs of the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF). The event was hosted by Sherry and Allen Adams of Plano, TX. Sherry is the ambassador to the USEF for the discipline of reining.

The party was the perfect example of Texan hospitality, from the catering by Breakfast to Banquets, to the lovely Adams’ home. It was an ideal opportunity to reach equestrians in the Southern region. In addition to dinner, presentations were given by USEF CEO John R. Long and Tucker Johnson, who is the chairman of the USET Foundation Campaign to Achieve Competitive Excellence.

The information sessions informed everyone about how the USET Foundation and USEF work together to support our international equestrian athletes. Long mentioned that they are trying to “grow the organizations and serve the membership,” and that they want to move forward in direction and opportunity. Johnson remarked that focus must be on the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany, where all seven disciplines of the USEF and USET Foundation compete.

The USET Foundation and USEF are also working to get the message out about the United States’ bid for the 2010 World Equestrian Games in Lexington, KY, at the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park.

Guests at the event included: Sherry and Allen Adams, John Long, Charlotte and Tucker Johnson, Maria Partlow, Jim and Melendy Lovitt, Kenny Johnson, Sam Houston, Hedy and Ron Rittenmeyer, Walter Straus, Debra Dealcuaz, Claudia and Sparky Frost and Lee Bailey.
