When the nation’s best equestrians converge on Wellington, FL, for the 122nd National Horse Show and Family Festival beginning on November 30, 2005, among them will be the elite of the Amateur Owner Jumper and Junior Jumper divisions.

The top ranked riders from the year-long Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series have once again been invited to compete in a head-to-head battle in Florida in their special year-end championships at the 122nd National Horse Show (NHS) and Family Festival. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior and Amateur Owner Jumper Championships each offer $15,000 in prize money. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame final year end standings determine the entries for the championship.

The Amateur Owner Jumper Division starting list is highlighted by Danielle Torano of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the 2005 winner of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Series. Also slated to compete this year is past NHS Champion, Marley Goodman of Wellington, FL. Joining Goodman and Torano are Charlie and Louis Jacobs of East Aurora, NY; Cara Raether of Bedford, NY; and Katherine Miracle of Stoneville, NC. Other top competitors in the Amateur Owner Jumper Division include Clara Lindner of Cincinnati, OH; Erin Stewart of Ocala, FL; Katrina Woods of Bronxville, NY; and Derek Braun of Bridgehampton, NY.

Ali Wolff of New Albany, OH, and Aimee Aron from Keswick, VA, the number two and three riders on the 2005 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior standings, top the list of excellent Junior Jumper competitors for this year’s National Horse Show. Aron won two of the three classes at last year’s National and was named High Point Junior Jumper Rider.

Carolyn Kelly of New York, NY, and Hillary Dobbs of Wellington, FL, both ranked in the Show Jumping Hall of Fame top ten, are also scheduled to compete this year. Other top juniors include Jessica Speiser of Armonk, NY; Andrew Welles of Long Lake, MN; Josephine Nash of North Salem, NY; and Lexy Reed of Ocala, FL.

Over $30,000 in prize money is up for grabs as the best of the Junior and Amateur Owner Jumpers take the field. The Welcome Stake for each division will be held on Friday in the DeNemethy Arena. This is followed by the Speed Stakes in the Internationale Arena on Saturday. The final show down is on Sunday morning in the Internationale Arena at 8 a.m., beginning with the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Junior Championship and followed immediately by the Amateur battle.
