The United States Equestrian Federation has announced the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, has been chosen as the site for the 38th USEF Pony Finals to be held during the week of August 8-14, 2005.
The USEF Pony Finals are the most prestigious and celebrated events of their kind in the United States. The Hunter Pony Championship is a three-phase competition judging the pony’s conformation, way of moving under saddle and fence jumping ability. The Pony Medal Championship test young riders in head-to-head competition, judging their ability to compete over a technical and demanding course of fences. The Pony Jumper Championship tests the rider and ponies skills over a timed course of fences 2’9-3’6” in classic jumper style.
This multi-day championship event hosts more than 300 young riders and their talented mounts, as well as interested spectators and families.
The only park of its kind in the world, the Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm/theme park and equine competition facility dedicated to man’s relationship with the horse. Set on more than 1,200 acres in the heart of Kentucky’s famous Bluegrass region, the park is a learning experience for everyone, from those unfamiliar with the horse to those who are equine experts.
