Lexington, KY –The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) is now accepting bids to host the 2006 Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championship. In existence for more than five years, this prestigious event continues to feature some of the country’s best reining athletes. In 2002, the Open Reining Championship was used as the Final Selection Trial for the World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain. The resulting team made history by capturing the Team Gold medal and the Individual Gold and Silver medals. The Championship will again be considered the United States’ Final Selection Trial for the 2006 World Equestrian Games in Aachen, Germany. In 2004, the Championship became an international event as the final qualifier for the FEI World Reining Masters Series, a tradition that continued in 2005, when the National Open Reining Championship took place at the Kentucky Horse Park.
The 2006 Adequan/USEF National Open Reining Championship is scheduled to take place between May and June of next year. Deadline for submission is November 30, 2005. For more information, please contact Courtney Barnett, Director of Reining, by phone at (859) 225-6919, or via e-mail at [email protected].
