Wellington, FL - Lansing and Jeanine Cash had a clean sweep of the Adult Amateur 36-50 division during week one of the FTI Consulting Winter Equestrian Festival (FTI WEF). The ten-year-old Holsteiner gelding, owned by Richard Schechter and trained by Gary Duffy, was unbeatable both days of competition, taking home the blue for every over fences class as well as the under saddle.

Joe Maskrey's Winter Rose, ridden by Lynn Seithel, earned reserve honors after delivering solid over fences trips during the first and second days of the division. Winter Rose and Seithel placed second and third over fences and sixth under saddle on day one of competition. Then, the pair jumped to reserve champion with fifth and third ribbons.

Lansing is no stranger to winning at the FTI WEF. He earned the circuit champion title in the Adult Amateurs at the FTI WEF 2012, but today's victory was special for long-time owner Schechter.

"He's never done this before. Neither one of us [Schechter or trainer Duffy], in either one of our long time showing or owning horses here, have swept a division. Not at WEF," Schechter excitedly stated.

Cash attributed Lansing's performance to his remarkable disposition. "It's a combination of his natural ability and willingness to do exactly what we ask of him. He's just a dream, he really is," Cash described.

Cash further praised the gelding's effortless jumping style. She continued, "He's one of the smoothest horses I've ever sat on, very comfortable and just very easy. The jumps just come right up."

The fact that Cash, of Winthrop, Mass., has never ridden Lansing before this week only reinforces her praise for the gelding. "Yesterday was just getting to know each other a little," Cash explained, "but he really just does what I ask him and everything just came together."

Schechter, who purchased Lansing as a three-year-old, is also CEO of The Bainbridge Companies, which is the title sponsor for week nine of the FTI WEF. The Bainbridge Companies is a leading owner, developer, and manager of luxury multifamily apartment communities in the United States with its headquarters here in Wellington.

The first week of competition at the FTI WEF continues Saturday with the Small Junior Hunters 16-17 in the E.R Mische Hunter Arena. The last two over fences classes of the division include a stake round plus the under saddle before announcing championship and reserve titles.

In the International Arena, the $25,000 Suncast® 1.50M Championship Jumper Classic will be held in the afternoon, and the $55,000 Nespresso Battle of the Sexes exhibition class will kick off the start of the "Saturday Night Lights" series in the evening.
