Lexington, Ky. – The International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA) is set to host the 2019 World and Grand National Championship Horse Show at the Champions Center in Springfield, Ohio, from October 2-6. Spectators will have the opportunity to see the best of the Friesian breed displayed in approximately 300 classes over the course of the show. Classes include a variety of disciplines, such as dressage, Western dressage, English pleasure, carriage pleasure driving, trail, in-hand, and more.
Judges Melissa I. Boyd (Fenton, Mich.), Grace Greenlee (Marion, N.C.), Karen Homer-Brown (Georgetown, Ky.), Debbie Rodriguez (Williamsburg, Va.), and Stephanie Snyder (White City, Ore.) will evaluate and crown the 2019 World Champions.
The IFSHA World and Grand National Championship Horse Show is pleased to benefit and support The All Glory Project. In 2018, the Friesian community raised $6,000 for The All Glory Project. The All Glory Honor Ride will be held on Saturday evening with Elizabeth Shatner. Entrants may ride at a walk, lead a horse, or walk on foot in the arena to honor veterans and their families. All class fees and donations go to The All Glory Project.
Several special events will take place for exhibitors throughout the show, including a Tuesday's Welcome Dinner and Keuring sponsored by the Ohio Valley Friesian Association, the IFSHA Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, and the IFSHA National Trade Fair. Additionally, the Friesian Horse Association North America/Koninklijke Vereniging "Het Friesch Paarden-Stamboek" Mare Show East will take place on Wednesday evening in the indoor arena.
