It's Almost Time for the Greatest Morgan Show of the Year

by Edited press release from the American Morgan Horse Association | Oct 11, 2019, 9:06 AM

Shelburne, Vt. – The American Morgan Horse Association (AMHA) is set to host the 2019 Grand National & World Championship Morgan Horse Show®. The annual Grand National competition is shaping up to be another monumental event in this show's long history. More than 900 of the world's finest Morgan horses from across the United States and Canada will meet in Oklahoma City, Okla., from October 12-19 for a chance at a piece of more than $250,000 in prize money.

Since 1973, this show has represented the pinnacle of achievement in the Morgan horse world. Longtime show manager Matt Kwapich (Bernalillo, N.M.) again joins the show, and this year Jeffrey Gove (Seabrook, N.H.) serves in the capacity of show chairman. Kwapich, with a dedicated and hard-working show committee and staff, joins an impressive list of sponsors, officials, and volunteers to make each year's show better than the last.

Oklahomans can be proud to know that the best athletes of America's first breed will focus on the state’s capital. The Morgan community is honored to call Oklahoma City home since 1975.

Competition begins Saturday, October 12, with three sessions daily through Saturday, October 19. Daily show times are 9 a.m., 1 p.m., and 7 p.m., with the exception of the Friday and Saturday evening sessions, which are set to start at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free throughout the week.
