NetJets® U.S. Show Jumping Team Seeking FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Final Berth at Langley Odlum Brown BC Open

Lexington, Ky. - As the last qualifying competition in the North and Central America and Caribbean division, the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Canada can secure a spot for the NetJets® U.S. Show Jumping Team in October’s Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Final. The competition wraps up a week of competition at the Langley Odlum Brown BC Open, which also includes both a Juniors and Children’s Nations Cup competition on Saturday, June 2. After tying for third in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup USA and placing second in the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup Mexico, Chef d’Equipe Robert Ridland turns to the team of Jamie Barge, Lucy Deslauriers, Keri Potter, and Richard Spooner to continue U.S. Show Jumping’s 2018 success. The U.S. has drawn fourth in the order of five teams when competition gets underway at 5:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 3.

Last Time Out

Barge and Luebbo last competed in the 2018 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Final. They placed second in the Tequila Reserva De La Familia Cup Longines FEI World Cup Jumping qualifying competition at the Triple Copa Scappino CSI4*-W in January. 

Deslauriers and Hester placed third in the $50,000 Old Salem Farm Grand Prix CSI2* at the 2018 Old Salem May I and won the 2018 $132,000 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) Challenge Cup Round VII CSI5* during week 12. 

Potter and Bitalica won the $80,000 Gold Tour Grand Prix CSI3* at the 2018 Blenheim Spring Classic II in March.

Spooner and Chatinus last competed in the 2018 FEI World Cup Jumping Final. They won the $100,000 Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Las Vegas CSIW-4* at the 2017 Las Vegas National Horse Show in November.

Competition Information

The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Canada begins at 5:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, June 3. The event will be streamed live on FEI TV.

U.S. Junior and Children Jumping Athletes Building Team Experience at Langley Odlum Brown BC Open 

The U.S. will field junior and children’s Nations Cup teams at the Langley Odlum Brown BC Open with competition taking place on Saturday, June 2. The $1,500 Children’s Nations Cup CSIOCh will begin at 1:00 p.m. EST, followed by the $2,000 Junior Nations Cup CSIOJ at 3:00 p.m. EST. In addition, these athletes will compete in a Grand Prix competition on Sunday with the $1,500 Children’s Grand Prix CSIOCh taking place at 11:00 a.m. EST, followed by the $2,000 Junior Grand Prix CSIOJ at 3:00 p.m. EST.

Alyce Bittar (Los Angeles, Calif.) with Lara Croft B, Georges Bittar’s 12-year-old Oldenburg mare. The 2017 NAYC alumna and Lara Croft B placed second in the $15,000 Grand Prix of Flintridge at the Annual Flintridge Horse Show in April. They placed fourth in the $40,000 Las Vegas National Speed Stake at the 2017 Las Vegas National Horse Show CSI4*-W in November. Bittar was the 2016 United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Children's Jumper Zone 9/10 Champion.

Coco Fath (Fairfield, Conn.) with Huckleberry, her and Hillside Farm LLC’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding. Fath and Huckleberry recently placed third in the Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach CSI2* Final and second in the Longines Masters of New York LA Saddlery Masters Two CSI2* in April. Fath is a 2018 WEF Excellence in Equitation Champion, October 2017 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Rider of the Month, 2017 Neue Schule/USEF Junior Jumper National Championship bronze medalist, 2016 NAYC alumna, and five-time U.S. Pony Finals presented by Collecting Gaits Farm competitor.

Mattie Hatcher (Little Rock, Ark.) with Cristiano, her eight-year-old Swedish Warmblood gelding. The combination won the $25,000 Jumper Classic 1.35m-1.40m at the Tryon Welcome 3 in April. Hatcher was a member of the Zone 7 junior gold medal-winning team at the 2017 NAYC.

Hayden Zadel (Monte Sereno, Calif.) with Triskel de Kerliven, HHZ LLC’s, 11-year-old Selle Francais gelding. Zadel and Triskel de Kerliven placed fourth in the $30,000 Smartpak Open Grand Prix at the HITS Desert Circuit V in February. Zadel was a member of the Zone 10 young rider bronze medal-winning team at the 2017 NAYC.

 

 

Meet the Children’s U.S. Show Jumping Team

Emma Callanan (Lebanon, N.J.) with Cocu, Renee Connors’s 12-year-old gelding of unknown breeding. Callanan, a 2017 USHJA Gold Star Emerging Jumper Rider, was a member of the gold medal-winning ‘Americas’ team in the FEI International Invitational Children’s Team Competition at the 2018 HITS Ocala Winter Festival in February. She competed on the Zone 2 team at the 2017 NAYC. In addition, she was on the children’s team at the 2017 CSIJCh Langley where she won the $1,500 Children's Grand Prix.

Alexa Leong (Sacramento, Calif.) with Hertogin Ter Drie Leien, Leong’s 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare. The combination competed on the bronze medal-winning team in the FEI International Invitational Children’s Team Competition at the 2018 HITS Ocala Winter Festival in February. In 2017, Leong was part of the children’s team at the CSIJCh Langley, competed on the Zone 10 gold medal-winning children’s team at the NAYC, and was named a USHJA Gold Star Emerging Jumper Rider.
