Springfield, Ohio – The International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA) welcomed an impressive number of horses to the 2019 World and Grand National Championship Horse Show from October 2-6 in Springfield, Ohio. The Champions Center Expo set the stage as some of the most elite Friesians in the United States vied for world championship titles. With high numbers of entries in a multitude of classes, this turnout also created ample opportunity for the Friesian community to make connections and share their joint interest in the breed.
Judges Melissa I. Boyd (Fenton, Mich.), Grace Greenlee (Marion, N.C.), Karen Homer-Brown (Georgetown, Ky.), Debbie Rodriguez (Williamsburg, Va.), and Stephanie Snyder (White City, Ore.) evaluated the exhibitors in an unprecedented level of fierce competition.
On Saturday night, IFSHA held the fifth edition of The All Glory Benefit Lead/Ride. All entry fees to the class were donated to The All Glory Project. Horse trainer and philanthropist Elizabeth Shatner led this charity ride as participants and spectators pledged donations to the cause. US Equestrian pledged to match $2,500 of funds raised during the class. IFSHA, exhibitors, and spectators rose to the challenge and raised a total of more than $6,000 for The All Glory Project.
Other special events throughout the week included a welcome dinner for exhibitors, silent auction, the National Trade Fair, and the IFSHA Annual General Meeting.
