Lexington, Ky. – The Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships presented by Gotham North (NAYC) for jumping kicks off at Old Salem Farm on August 1, where the country’s top young equestrians will compete for team and individual Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) medals.
US Equestrian is excited to announce that NAYC competitors in the Young Rider division will also have the opportunity to qualify for selection to the U.S. Show Jumping Youth Team for the inaugural FEI Youth Nations Cup Final! Anne Kursinski will serve as Chef d’Equipe for the U.S. team.
Hosted in Opglabbeek, Belgium, from September 6-9, the FEI Youth Nations Cup Final is modeled after the Senior Longines FEI Nations Cup Final where teams from across the globe qualify to compete at the Final. The U.S. must qualify for the Final by being one of the top two teams at NAYC.
Up to three U.S. athlete-and-horse combinations will be recommended to the U.S. Show Jumping Youth Team, provided they place first, second, or third in the final overall individual standings at NAYC, and that the combination has met the eligibility requirements. Learn more about the U.S. Show Jumping Youth Team selection method here. The detailed Selection Procedures will be available at www.usequestrian.org/jumping by July 25, 2018.
Athletes from the Young Rider division interested in being considered for the team must submit an application through their Athlete Dashboard. Applications are now available and the application deadline is Tuesday, August 7.
