Springfield, Ohio – The International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA) welcomed a record number of horses to the 2018 World and Grand National Championship Horse Show from October 2-7, in Springfield, Ohio. The Champions Center Expo set the stage as over 175 of the most elite Friesians in the United States vied for world championship titles. This incredible turnout created ample opportunity for commiserating with fellow Friesian aficionados and an unprecedented level of fierce competition.
Judges Leslie Connor (Joplin, Mo.), Melissa Creswick (Clovis, Calif.), Matthew Roberts (Cave Creek, Ariz.), Muffy Seaton (Williston, S.C.), Jennifer Sullivan (Pembroke, Mass.), and Todd Trushel (Fairview, Pa.) were tasked with evaluating the best of the best and crowned this year’s champions.
On Saturday night, IFSHA held the fourth edition of The All Glory Benefit Lead/Ride where all entry fees to the class were donated to The All Glory Project. Horse trainer and philanthropist Elizabeth Shatner led this charity ride and the BraveHearts drill team performed for the audience. IFSHA, exhibitors, and spectators raised $6,000 for The All Glory Project this year.
Other special events throughout the week included a welcome dinner for exhibitors, silent auction, the National Trade Fair, and the IFSHA Annual General Meeting. US Equestrian CEO Bill Moroney attended the General Meeting and answered questions about the new SafeSport requirements for US Equestrian adult competing members.
