Morton, Ill. – The American Shetland Pony Club, Inc. (ASPC) National Congress kicks off Monday, July 30, at the National Equestrian Center in St. Louis, Mo. Celebrating 72 years, Congress is the ASPC’s longest-running show and the official national championship for all divisions of the ASPC, showcasing the best of the American Shetland Pony breed in the Classic, Foundation, and Modern sections.

Every year, Congress provides a national platform for owners, breeders, amateurs, trainers, and youth from across North America to compete with others who have excelled during the horse show season. Ponies in an array of colors, sizes, and ages will vie for top honors in everything from leadline to roadster stake classes. With over 450 classes on offer, exhibitors face off in fierce competition while also coming together to share their passion for the American Shetland Pony as they demonstrate the breed’s characteristic athleticism, beauty, and versatility.

A family-friendly event, the show is free to spectators and features entertaining events for horse enthusiasts of all ages and interests to enjoy. Learn more about the 2018 ASPC National Congress here.
