Lexington, Ky. - US Equestrian has named the following athletes to the Land Rover U.S. Eventing Team for the FEI Eventing Nations Cup™ Great Britain, Thursday, May 24-27. Athletes are considered by application in accordance with the CIO selection procedures. The Nations Cup competition is part of the Saracen Horse Feeds Houghton International Horse Trials and is the second leg of the 2018 FEI Eventing Nations Cup series. In addition, the event is part of the United States Equestrian Team Foundation Karen Stives Endowment Emerging Athletes Tour. Grant recipients will utilize this competition to prepare for the Equi-Trek Bramham International Horse Trials, the final competition of the tour, running June 7-10, as well as gain additional team experience. Leslie Law will serve as Chef d’Equipe for the team in addition to his role as the Emerging Athlete Coach for the Karen Stives Endowment Emerging Athletes Tour.
The following athlete-and-horse combinations will compete for the U.S., listed alphabetically:
Katherine Coleman (New Orleans, La.) with Billy Bandit, her 10-year-old Anglo-European gelding, or Monte Classico, Kalai, LLC’s nine-year-old Deutsches Sportpferd gelding.
Hallie Coon (Ocala, Fla.), a 2018 Karen Stives Endowment Fund Grant recipient, and Celien, Hallie and Helen Coon’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare.
Caroline Martin (Miami Beach, Fla.), a 2018 Karen Stives Endowment Fund Grant recipient, with Danger Mouse, Caroline and Sherrie Martin’s 10-year-old Warmblood gelding, or The Apprentice, Sherrie Martin’s 14-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding.
