Lexington, Ky. – US Equestrian has named seven dressage athletes to the Short List for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games U.S. Dressage Team.
The following Big Tour horse-and-athlete combinations have been named to the Short List (in alphabetical order):
Charlotte Jorst (Reno, Nev.) and Kastel’s Nintendo, Kastel Denmark’s 16-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion
Nick Wagman (San Diego, Calif.) and Don John, Beverly Gepfer’s 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding
The following Small Tour horse-and-athlete combinations have been named to the Short List (in alphabetical order):
Nora Batchelder (Williston, Fla.) and Faro SQF, the 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding she owns with Andrea Whitcomb
Jennifer Baumert (Wellington, Fla.) and Handsome, Betsy Juliano LLC’s 14-year-old Hanoverian gelding
Ashley Holzer (Wellington, Fla.) and Valentine, her nine-year-old Hanoverian mare
Sarah Lockman (Wildomar, Calif.) and First Apple, Gerry Ibanez’s nine-year-old KWPN stallion
Endel Ots (Wellington, Fla.) and Lucky Strike, Max Ots’s nine-year-old Hanoverian gelding
All combinations on the Short List will create an agreed-upon competition plan with Chef d’Equipe Debbie McDonald, in consultation with the Selectors. Detailed selection procedures for the 2019 Pan American Games can be found here. The team is anticipated to be announced in late June. Chef d’Equipe Debbie McDonald will lead the U.S. Dressage Team in Lima from July 28-29 and July 31.
