US Equestrian Statement on Safe Sport and Reporting Abuse

by US Equestrian Communications Department | Apr 4, 2018, 5:16 PM

Lexington, Ky. - Anne Kursinski and DiAnn Langer, both Chefs d’Equipe for US Equestrian show jumping, along with several other women, bravely stepped forward to share their stories and further reinforce that abuse, of any kind, has no place in equestrian sport. US Equestrian wants every athlete, parent, coach, groom, support staff, and trainer to know: if you are a victim of abuse or suspect abuse of any kind, there are resources and people to help. US Equestrian, in partnership with the U.S. Center for Safe Sport, is providing education and resources to ensure young people and the adults who support them are empowered to speak up and create the safe, respectful environment all athletes deserve. Horse sports are a source of strength and joy for so many people and it is incumbent upon all of us who love this amazing sport to protect young athletes and preserve the joy of horse sports for the next generation of riders.
