Lima, Peru - The U.S. Eventing Team has won the gold medal at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games on Sunday. As a result, U.S. Eventing has qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Led by Chef d'Equipe Erik Duvander, the team of Boyd Martin (Cochranville, Pa.) and Tsetserleg (Windfall x Buddenbrock), an 11-year-old Trakhener gelding owned by Christine Turner; Doug Payne (Aiken, S.C.) and Starr Witness (Chello III x Veneur), an eight-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare owned by Payne, Laurie McRee & Catherine Winter; Tamie Smith (Murietta, Calif.) and Mai Baum (Loredano x Rike), a 13-year-old German Sport Horse gelding owned by Alex Ahearn, Ellen Ahearn, & Eric Markell; and Lynn Symansky (Middleburg, Va.) and RF Cool Play (Condors Champion x Radscha), an 11-year-old Gerrman Sport Horse gelding owned by the Donner Syndicate, finished with a score of 91.2.
In addition, Martin and Tsetserleg won individual gold with a score of 25.6 and Symansky and RF Cool Play earned silver with a score of 29.2.
