Ocala, Fla. – The first USEF Combined Driving National Championships of the 2023 season are underway at Spring Fling CDE held at the Florida Horse Park. Seven National Champion titles are on the line this week in the following divisions:
- Preliminary Single Pony
- Preliminary Single Horse
- Preliminary Pair Horse
- Advanced Single Pony
- Advanced Pair Pony
- Advanced Four-in-Hand Pony
- Advanced Pair Horse
Several reigning National Champions will defend their titles this weekend. Katie Whaley returns with her champion chestnuts in the Advanced Pair Pony division. Mary Phelps and her team of American Shetlands are back as defending National Champions in the Advanced Four-in-Hand Pony. Jacob Arnold looks to repeat his championship finish with his Advanced Pair Horses.
The dressage phase kicked off on Wednesday, Feb. 22, and will conclude on Friday, Feb. 24. Drivers will take on the exciting marathon course on Saturday, and the event will conclude with National Champions being named after the cones phase on Sunday.
