Ailish Cunniffe grew up in an equestrian family and developed a passion for horses at a young age. She had a successful junior career, winning FEI North American Youth Championship team gold medals in 2017 and 2018. Cunniffe turned professional at the end of 2020 and now rides and trains at Whipstick Farm alongside her parents, Bonnie and Frank. 

In 2022, Cunniffe made her senior team debut at the FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Mexico CSIO5* with Vivaldi du Theil.
