Ben Ebeling

Hometown: Wellington, Fla. Birthday: 11/9/1999 Sport/Disciplines: Dressage

Ben Ebeling started in the youth ranks of dressage before moving on to top results at the senior level. He rode Behlinger at the Adequan®/FEI North American Youth Championships in 2017 and 2018, winning team gold in 2017. With Behlinger, Ebeling was part of the first-place team at the CDI-Y Young Riders competition at Del Mar in 2018, where he placed second in the young rider individual and freestyle. In 2018 and 2019, Ebeling was a member of the Hagen CDIO-Y team for the USEF Dressage Young Rider European Tour. With Illuster Van De Kampert, Ebeling scored wins in the CDI-U25 Grand Prix 16-25 and Grand Prix Freestyle at week eight of the 2020 Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF). Two weeks later, the pair helped the U.S. Stars and Stripes Team earn gold in the FEI Nations Cup CDIO-U25, again winning the CDI-U25 Grand Prix 16-25 and Grand Prix Freestyle.

Ebeling had an excellent start to 2021 moving to the senior ranks, winning the CDI3* Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special with Illuster Van De Kampert during week seven of AGDF. He made his senior team debut at the FEI Dressage Nations Cup CDIO3* USA with Illuster Van De Kampert, helping The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team collect silver. The pair was second in the CDIO3* Grand Prix Freestyle and third in the Grand Prix Special. For their results, Ebeling and Illuster Van De Kampert were named to the Short List for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. In the fall, the pair represented The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team at the CHIO Aachen CDIO5* Nations Cup, helping the team to a fourth-place finish.

In 2022, Ebeling had a successful start to the season at the AGDF with Indeed, Illuster Van De Kampert, and Status Royal OLD. Ebeling and Indeed helped The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team earn silver in the FEI Dressage Nations Cup CDIO3* USA. Ebeling was named to the Short List for the 2022 FEI Dressage World Championships with Indeed and Illuster Van De Kampert. Ebeling and Indeed again represented the U.S. team at the FEI Dressage Nations Cups in France and Germany. Ebeling partnered with Illuster Van De Kampert at FEI Dressage Nations Cup Netherlands, helping the U.S. team earn silver.

Ebeling had another strong start to the season in Florida in 2023. He and Status Royal OLD were members of the winning CDIOU25 U.S. team during the FEI Dressage Nations Cup USA, earning first in the CDIOU25 Intermediate II, second in the Grand Prix 16-25, and third in the Freestyle. Over the summer in Europe, Ebeling secured wins with Status Royal OLD in CDUI25 classes and Indeed in CDI4* classes. Ebeling and Indeed also helped the U.S. team to a sixth-place finish in the FEI Dressage Nations Cup Netherlands. Back stateside in the fall, the pair finished in the top two in CDI-W classes at Dressage at Devon and TerraNova. 

Ebeling began 2024 by sweeping the Desert Dressage CDI-W classes with Indeed. 

Ebeling trains with his father, Olympian Jan Ebeling, at their farm in Florida, as well as with Christoph Koschel.
