Cheryl Van Deusen

Cheryl Van Deusen has represented the U.S. Endurance Team in international competition since 2005, including as part of the silver medal team at the 2009 FEI Endurance Pan American Championships in Uruguay.

With her 2004 Arabian gelding, Hoover the Mover, Van Deusen was part of the U.S. team for the FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018. In 2023, she was again named to the U.S. team for the FEI Endurance World Championship in the United Arab Emirates with her own 2012 Arabian gelding, JG General, and the FEI Pan American Championship in Chile with Maxi Wimmer’s 2012 mare, C.L. Misteriosa.

Van Deusen and Jose Ortega’s 2015 Arabian mare, Madjule, won the CeI3* 160 km at Broxton Bridge Ride in the Low Country in January of 2024 and placed third in the CEI3* at Fun in the Sun Pioneer Rides in March. They were subsequently named to the team for the 2024 FEI Endurance World Championships in France.

Van Deusen has won the Maggy Price Endurance Excellence Award every year since 2017. This award is presented annually to the top U.S. senior endurance rider.
