Katie Johnson Duerrhammer has had success through the Grand Prix level with Quartett, Kylee Lourie’s Brandenburg gelding, since getting the ride on him ahead of the 2020 competition season. In 2021, the pair earned good scores and top placings, including second place in the FEI Grand Prix at week 11 of the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival, third place in the FEI Grand Prix Test at the U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions, and third place and a personal best score of 71.533 in the CDI4* FEI Grand Prix at Tryon Spring Dressage. They kicked off the 2022 season with wins in the CDI3* FEI Grand Prix Special at AGDF 3 and the CDI4* FEI Grand Prix at AGDF 5. They were selected to represent The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team at the FEI Dressage Nations CupTM Germany CDIO5* in the summer of 2022.
With Kylee Lourie’s Westphalian gelding, Paxton, Duerrhammer earned scores in the 70s and wins in the FEI Grand Prix and FEI Grand Prix Special at AGDF 6 in 2022. They went on to win the CDI3* FEI Grand Prix and Grand Prix Special at World Equestrian Center Dressage III before being named to The Dutta Corp. U.S. Dressage Team for the 2022 FEI Dressage Nations Cup The Netherlands CDIO5*.
Duerrhammer is an alumna of the North American Youth Championship, having won team and individual gold as part of Region 7 in 2008 with Pam Brown-Schachter’s KWPN gelding, Millenium.
