Shawn Casady led a successful youth career, winning a silver medal in jumping at the 2012 Adequan FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championship. He was also a member of winning U.S. team at the 2015 FEI Young Riders Nations Cup in Wellington, Fla. Emerging from his junior years as a success catch-rider, Casady made the move to the Netherlands to train with Alan Waldman and later partnered with John and Beezie Madden. His ability to step in for leading rider like Hardin Towell highlighted his versatility in the competitive jumping arena.
In 2018, Casady settled in Thermal, Calif. and thrived under the guidance of Michael Dorman and Ronnie Beard before joining Highpoint Farm. He spent time developing a strong competitive base with a talented group of horses. In 2023, Casady represented the U.S. Jumping Team in the FEI Nations Cup Jumping California CSIO5* where he helped the team secure fifth place overall.
In 2024, Casady reached new heights aboard Cool Quarz, achieving top finishes in multiple Grand Prix classes in Vancouver, BC. The duo continued showcasing their skills at CSI5*-W events in Arcadia and Thermal, Calif. The pair finished in sixth place in the $400,000 1.60m FEI World Cup Qualifier Grand Prix at Santa Anita, following up with a second place finish a few weeks later in the Longines World Cup Jumping Qualifier and victory in the $32,000 MLSJ FEI CSI5* qualifier at Desert International Horse Park.
