Diamond Dunes is new to the CPEDI scene, debuting with Fiona Howard this year in the U.S. in Grade II competition. The pair made their mark in Grade II competition in March, debuting at the World Equestrian Center and taking wins with scores in the mid 70's.
They then traveled to Europe for the remainder of their spring and summer campaign on their road to potential team selection for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The duo continued to show the growing strength of their partnership, notching more wins in Grade II competition in both Manheim and Hagen. The duo were selected to particpate in their first Paralympic Games and will make their debut in Paris for Team USA.
Dunes and Howard showed the strength of their partnership at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. They earned two individual gold medals in the Grand II FEI Grand Prix Freestyle and Individual Tests. Their impressive scores helped the team to a final combined score of 235.567, a historical win and the highest Paralympic team score ever recorded in the para-equestrian discipline.
The duo marked the start of 2025 with a team win at the Adequan® Global Dressage Festival 9 CPEDI3*. It was at this event that Dunes and Howard broke the current world record in the FEI Grade II Para Grand Prix Freestyle, with a 83.267%.
