Will Coleman

Will Coleman was part of the U.S. eventing team at the London 2012 Olympic Games with Twizzel and the FEI World Equestrian Games Tryon 2018 with Tight Lines. In 2021, Coleman and Off The Record became the first-ever U.S. winners of the CCIO4*-S at CHIO Aachen. The pair went on to compete as part of the silver medal-winning U.S. team at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championship in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. Coleman had a stellar 2024 season with both Off the Record and new mount, Diabolo. The pair finished one-two at the competitive CCI4*-S at the Kentucky Three-Day Event. Ultimately, Coleman was selected to his second U.S. Olympic Eventing Team, opting to take Off The Record, with Diabolo as a direct reserve for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Off The Record (Timmy) has become one of Will Coleman’s most consistent and successful FEI mounts since their career started together in 2015. The pair debuted at the CCI1* level, moving through the levels with tremendous success. The pair finished their first CCI5*-L in 2021, taking 15th overall at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event in Lexington, Ky. They continued to showcase their talent and grit, notching an incredible win at the CHIO Aachen in 2021 and becoming the first U.S. combination to win the iconic event. Their success has continued to build at the CCI4* and CCI5* levels, with a top performance in their first championship together at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. The pair added only 0.8-time faults on cross-country to their dressage score of 26.4 and marking the only double-clear show jumping round for the U.S. Eventing Team. Most recently, the pair finished third in the CCI4*-S at the Kentucky Three-Day Event, adding just 0.8-time faults to their dressage score of 30.1. In total, Coleman and Off The Record have notched 36 international starts in their career together, with five wins and 15 top-five finishes.

Ariel Grald

Hometown: Southern Pines, N.C. Sport/Disciplines: Eventing

Ariel Grald is an international event rider and a member of the 2019 and 2020 USEF Development Training List. Grald has brought her current top horse, Leamore Master Plan, to the five-star level, completing both the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event and Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials in 2019. At Burghley, Grald was the highest finishing first-timer, placing 10th overall. In 2021, the pair finished third in the CCI5*-L at Lumühlen in Germany. Grald and Leamore Master Plan represented the U.S. as individuals at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships.

Leamore Master Plan and Ariel Grald began their partnership in 2015. Their more recent successes as a team include, a first-place finish in the CCI4*-S and a second-place finish in the CCI3*-S classes.

Boyd Martin

A native of Australia, Boyd Martin has competed for the U.S. since 2009. He is a three-time Olympian and has three Pan American Games gold medals to his name, including a team gold from 2015 with Pancho Villa and team and individual gold from 2019 with Tsetserleg TSF. Tsetserleg TSF was also his partner for the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championship, where they were part of the silver medal-winning team. Martin has won the USEF CCI5*-L Eventing National Championship at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event twice, in 2019 with Tsetserleg TSF and in 2021 with On Cue. In 2021, he and On Cue won the inaugural Maryland 5 Star, becoming the first American combination to win a CCI5* event since 2008. Martin had a strong 2023 season at the CCI5*-L level with numerous horses, piloting his string around some of the world's most difficult tracks, only finishing outside of the top ten twice, including two top-ten finished with Fedarman B at Luhmuhlen CCI5*-L and Pau CCI5*-L. He also won the CCI4*-L at Morven Park with Commando 3 in the fall of 2023. The 2024 season saw another strong start for Martin and his string, with his two top mounts earning consistent results at the CCI4*-S level, with both Fedarman B and Commando 3 earning top-five finishes at the CCI4*-S at the Kentucky Three-Day Event. Martin was selected for his fourth consecutive Olympics, choosing to take Fedarman B with Commando 3 as a direct reserve for Paris 2024.

 

Tsetserleg TSF

Since beginning a partnership with Boyd Martin in 2016, Tsetserleg has won team and individual gold at the 2019 Pan American Games, as well as the 2019 USEF CCI5*-L Eventing National Championship title at the Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian™ and the 2020 Buckeye Nutrition USEF CCI4*-L Eventing National Championship at the MARS Tryon International Three-Day Event. This duo also made their debut at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.

Lauren Nicholson

Lauren Nicholson is an Olympian who represented the U.S. Eventing Team at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro games riding Veronica. She had a successful young rider career, earning team medals in 2005 and 2007 with her Anglo-Arabian gelding, Snooze Alarm, and made her senior team debut at the 2015 Pan American Games where she rode Meadowbrook’s Scarlett as part of the gold medal-winning U.S. team. With Vermiculus, she was part of the silver medal-winning team at the FEI Eventing World Championship in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. The pair went on to win the USEF CCI5*-L Eventing National Championship at the 2024 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event.

 

Vermiculus

Vermiculus (Bug) has been a staple of Lauren Nicholson’s string for more than ten years. Vermiculus is a homebred from Virginia who has excelled at the top levels of international eventing with Nicholson and became a fan favorite. The pair have started 42 FEI events together throughout their decade-long career, finishing seven CCI5*-L events and completing three internationally. The pair represented the U.S. Eventing Team at the 2022 FEI Eventing World Championships in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy, helping the team secure their Paris 2024 Olympic qualification and earn team silver. In 2024, the pair finished as the top-placed U.S. combination at the CCI5*-L in Kentucky, winning the National Championship for the CCI5* level.

Tamra Smith

Tamie Smith was a member of the U.S. Eventing Team that won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, with Mai Baum. The pair were named as the reserve combination for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. With Mai Baum, Smith finished in the top ten at the 2021 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event CCI5* and the 2022 Badminton Horse Trials CCI5*.

Mai Baum and Tamra “Tamie” Smith quickly formed a partnership in 2015 and tallied five international wins that year, including The Dutta Corp./USEF CCI4*-L Eventing National Championship title at The Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International. The duo helped earn the team gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. In 2021, Smith and Mai Baum earned to a top-10 finish in the horse’s CCI5*-L debut at the 2021 Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian™.
